The Signorelli Company, a leading master-planned and mixed-use developer based in the Woodlands, Texas, recently donated $2.0 million to the East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation (EMCSF). The EMCSF was created by the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) to provide a better educational opportunity and promote economic, social and cultural development for qualifying students in East Montgomery County looking to further their education beyond high school.
“At the Signorelli Company, we strive to develop places that positively improve quality of life for our residents, customers, tenants and the community as a whole. From job creation, lifestyle conveniences, quality housing, parks and entertainment to creating a tax base to support our local schools and government budgets, the Signorelli Company is focused on long-term impacts,” stated Danny Signorelli, CEO of the Signorelli Company. “The young men and women graduating high school today are the next generation of leaders, the future of Texas and of our great Country. We are proud to invest in that future as we believe education is the cornerstone to improving quality of life for all.”
By contributing to the EMCSF, the Signorelli Company is helping make higher education more attainable for all East Montgomery County students. “I fell on hard times during my junior year at Texas A&M,” Signorelli continued. “I had to move back home and get a job at a local chemical plant. A handful of Older Aggies – Mr. Payne, Mr. Rowland, and Mr. Milstead – led by a Longhorn and dear friend, Mr. Jim Hamilton, put together a scholarship to get me back to school the very next semester. This act of kindness and generosity made a huge impact on my life. I was fortunate then to have people give me a leg up, and I know it makes Mr. Hamilton and all his ‘pods’ very proud to see what they started. This opportunity is exciting for my wife Angie and me, and for the Signorelli Company team, as it is a way to pay it forward, and give back to this amazing community in perpetuity.”
The endowed scholarship dedicated to EMCSF will be available for all high school graduates and a merit-based program will be available for current college students.
“I want to thank Frank McCrady and the EMCID board members for creating the EMCSF and for being a great partner and leader within the community,” concluded Signorelli. “We are proud of the positive impact EMCID and the Signorelli Company have had on East Montgomery County to date, and are excited to continue to work harder for even greater future impact.”
“We are thankful for the collaborative relationship we’ve had with Danny Signorelli over the past decade that has given our community so much in the way of amenities, shopping and dining, and jobs,” said Brenda Webb, EMCID Chairman of the Board. “The sizeable donation his company made to the Scholarship Foundation’s endowment is a testament to his commitment to East Montgomery County, its students and their future.”

East Montgomery County Improvement District and East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation
The East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) was created by the Texas Legislature in 1997 to develop and encourage economic and community development within its 158 square miles northeast of Houston. Led by a board of eight elected individuals, EMCID strategically recruits retail, commercial and industrial development through financial incentives, which can include cash, land, tax rebates, infrastructure, and workforce development funds, to companies that help create job opportunities. EMCID created the East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation (EMCSF) in 2004 to boost the post-secondary educational opportunities of the community’s youth. The Foundation provides $1,600 scholarships to all high school graduates and GED recipients within EMCID’s boundaries. It also offers merit-based scholarships to college students and paid internships to high school seniors. For more information about EMCID or EMCSF, visit www.emctx.com.
